Chauchilla Cemetery is situated about 30 kilometers south of the town of Nazca in the Nazca Desert. The cemetery dates back to the Nazca culture, which flourished from around 100 BCE to 600 CE. The site was used as a burial ground for the Nazca people.

The cemetery contains tombs with well-preserved mummies, many of which are wrapped in textiles and adorned with various burial offerings. The arid conditions of the desert have contributed to the preservation of these ancient remains.
